Education Fun in the Summer Program for Children of Omantel Employees

Omantel -represented by HR unit- has been started its second Educational Summer Club for children of Omantel Employees during the period of August 10th to August 21st 2014 aims to provide children with new skills that can develop the spirit of creativity and innovation in them. The program included Omantel staff kids in Sur, Sohar, Ibri, Nizwa , Salalah as well as the company’s headquarter in Muscat in collaboration with Abdullah Al Aisari Center.

Saif Sultan Al Abri, Senior Manger Employee Engagement at Omantel HR Unit commented on this: “Omantel HR unit seeks to provide its employees with stimulus working environment. For this, the Company introduced various initiatives that promote employee ambitions and involve their families. This event is considered as the second edition which comes after the success of the previous one. This summer club is a benefit for the children to make use of the summer holidays with a program that can develop their personal and cognitive skills and at the same time which is most important, keeping them close to their parents”

This program is being organized for the second time in the company and we were keen to make it at a level that would meet the needs of the emerging generation and provide them with the necessary knowledge that helps them to be innovative and creative individuals in their lives. The second edition covers various programs such as Smart Explorers Program, a workshop on inventions to teach students the principles of electronics, such as fan making and the sound of ambulance

making, the Smart Reader Program to train participants to overcome weak reading keys ,Historical Intelligence Program through discussing Omani stories and tales in the form of questions and answers, Spiritual Intelligence Program to teach participants the jurisprudence of prayer and the practical ablution in an easy and simple way ,the Environmental Intelligence Program through using environment ores to explain some of the different aspects of the environment, and Leadership Skills, such as the art of writing goals and time management.” He added.

Al Abri has pointed out that Abdullah Al Aisari Center is considered as one of the best children training programs throughout its 13 branches in the Sultanate.

The initiative is part of the company’s ‘Employee Engagement’ program, and aims to enhance the communication between the management and staff.
